Opening

The regular meeting of the AMERICAN LEGION POST 1919 at 1900 hrs.  14 January 2025 by Commander Michael Harris.

Approval of Minutes

Previous meeting minutes distributed to attendees.

Motion to approve by Doree Boger, Second by John Campbell.

The minutes of the previous meeting unanimously approved as distributed.

Membership Committee

69% of 2025 (144 of 208) Goal, as of January 14, 2025.

Reminder emails will be going out next week to alert passed due membership.

Dues have increased to $55. The 10-year option is still available. It is a Department program and the cost is $400 for 2025. This is still your best option. If you are a 10-year member, you will still get a renewal note from National. You are paid up, just see membership chair with questions/concerns. National has a 3-year program at $55 each, $165 total.

• Army/Navy Game in conjunction with SAL
• Was a huge success.
  • Approximately 40 guests in attendance.
    • From communities of: Indianapolis, Greenwood, Franklin, Trafalgar, Seymour, New Whiteland, New Palestine, Mooresville, Bargersville and Michigan.
  • Thank you VFW Auxiliary for food.
  • Thank you Rodney Davis for the use of his inflatable screen.
  • Thank you Tom Jordan for his projector and sound system.
    • Looking for ideas to make next year bigger and better.

January

• Started the Entertainment Committee on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
• Meetings will be the first Saturday of month at 1000 Hours.
• Ideas being considered:
  • Movie night, one Saturday a month.
  • Comedy / Open Mike night, one Saturday a month.
  • Paid bands, one Saturday a month.
  • Family themed events, one Saturday a month.
